A Bluewater Wedding

Congratulations to Emily and Chris, who are settling in to married life following the summer wedding of their dreams at Bluewater. Through months of careful planning and collaboration, the couple created a unique and magical backdrop for the breathtaking event that kicked off their new life together.

Chris grew up in Wilmington and has close ties to Bluewater.  After attending a wedding reception and an anniversary dinner at our restaurant, the couple knew we were a great fit for their big day!

Living in Greenville at the time, Emily and Chris opted to move their nuptials a couple of hours south to take advantage of our spectacular waterfront views. Both agreed Bluewater was the perfect site, offering the right size for their large guest list and a full band.

The reception featured a purple and gold theme to reflect the couple’s love for the East Carolina University Pirates. Not only is it their alma mater, but Emily and Chris won an engagement ring as part of a relay race contest held during halftime of the last ECU football game of the 2014 season.

Emily and Chris’ enthusiasm was contagious as they and all of their beloved guests danced the night away and enjoyed what Emily describes as “the most fun we have ever had.” We hope their cherished event will inspire future couples searching for a way to throw an unforgettable wedding that blends their personalities with the festivities.
